Kobilka Cryo-Electron Microscopy Center (KEMC)

Introduction

The Kobilka cryo-electron microscopy center for CUHKSZ is a joint effort by KIIDD and Longgang government to provide state-of-the-art cryo-EM instrumentation and expertise for structural biology community of the CUHKSZ, Shenzhen, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area and China. The location is on the CUHKSZ campus in the basement of the Research A building at: Room URA104. We house two ThermoFisher Scientific Titan Krios operated at 300 keV each equipped with a Gatan BioQuantum GIF/K3 direct electron detector and Volta phase plates, as well as one ThermoFisher Scientific Talos 120c operating at 120 Kv. In addition to three main microscopes, a batch of accessory instruments include freezing plunger, Vitrobote, Leica GP2, glow discharge, carbon coater, plasm cleaner, etc.
